Farmers Guardian interview
Last Friday’s issue of the Farmers Guardian carried an article about plans for Free Range Dairy in the coming year. Political Editor, Alistair Driver, interviewed me at the recent event held by the APPG on Agroecology in Westminster.
There is growing interest in the goals of Free Range Dairy amidst moves to encourage dairy farmers to establish Producer Organisations (PO’s). Many people have recently mentioned that the formation of a PO seems to be a natural step for Free Range Dairy and this is something I am now exploring.
In order to ensure that Free Range Dairy delivers what members want from the initiative, I am planning to meet with farmers to agree a formal organisational structure that will allow us to gain wider recognition for our herds and our milk. We will take professional advice on establishing the organisation, with a view to offering farmers a real stake in Free Range Dairy.
